North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League Teams (NJJLL)

League-Based Teams Overview

Teams engage in league-based competitions, practicing two to three times per week and competing in games throughout the week. We have combined leveled teams for different age groups: 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th. Hackettstown is a member of Single A Group 4, alongside the following programs:

*TJLC does play other local towns outside of Group 4 (Mt. Olive, Junior Lions, Lenape Valley, Newton, Hight Point, Long Valley, Randolph, Rock/Den, Parsippany, and more.

Sticks
If you put the butt end on the ground and stand the stick in front of the boy, it should not be higher than his nose.  Minimum length is 40" butt to end of the head.  For attack/mid, max length is 42".  For defense, the max length is 72 inches.  However a 'long pole' is not recommended below 5th grade and even then it should be cut so that it is no longer than the boy is tall.  If your player is new to the game, a starter stick designed for youth player is appropriate. Watch out for narrow throated or 'pinched' heads.
